Look who's back on their bullshit

::extremely staind voice:: it’s been a while

Hi friends,

I’ve been pretty busy lately. Should I have been sending emails about some of the stuff I’ve been busy with? Yeah probably, but oh well.

A few recent updates on the Rob front… My day job, where I had been contracting for a year, decided to convert me to a full-time employee, so for the first time since June 2023 I have a job without an expiration date attached to it. Huzzah.

And then in the evening of that very same day I began my three-year term on the Rosendale Theatre’s Board of Directors.

I’ve got a lot to say about that, as well as my other new role as the chair of the Marketing Committee, but I’m going to save that for another email.

Right now what’s important is that coming up on Wednesday we’ve got the WTF Wednesday screening that I’ve been waiting for since last September. It’s the movie I originally wanted to kick off the entire series with, my favorite Dario Argento movie, PHENOMENA!

5/21 - WTF Wednesday Presents: Phenomena

R | Italian Horror | 1 Hour 56 Minutes | $10.00 General Admission/$6.00 Members

Described by Dario Argento as the favorite of his own films, this mystical horror movie stands among the great filmmaker’s most outrageous propositions.

Jennifer Corvino, played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly (Labyrinth, Top Gun: Maverick), is sent to a private Swiss academy for girls where a vicious killer is on the loose. Jennifer has the unique ability to telepathically communicate with insects and an entomologist, Dr. John McGregor (Donald Pleasence - Halloween, Escape from New York), enlists her help in locating the murderer. As the mystery unfolds, they find themselves in a bizarre murder plot with maggots, telepathic insects and a razor-wielding chimpanzee! Can Jennifer uncover the killer’s identity before becoming a victim herself?

Phenomena defies all expectations as its thrilling mystery unravels. The soundtrack features Argento regular and Goblin mastermind Claudio Simonetti, alongside hard rockers Motörhead and Iron Maiden.
